Jannette Cross, Ph.D.
Therapy and Psychology Services of The Woodlands, PLLC
Compassionate, Evidence-Based Psychotherapy
I provide individual psychotherapy for adults. I am a well-seasoned clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience. I believe therapy should be a collaborative process where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change.
Therapy can be a place to process past experiences, develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your current situation, and most importantly, build strategies for growth and change.
My treatment approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I work with adults facing a range of challenges including depression, trauma, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders—from mild to severe. Every individual is unique, as are the challenges they face.
Sessions are provided online via secure televideo. I am a licensed psychologist in the State of Texas and offer telehealth services to adults across the state. I am also APIT certified, allowing me to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology across PSYPACT participating states.

A grounded story, thoughtfully shared.
I’m a Native Texan and 3rd-generation Houstonian. During my early adult years, I worked as a draftsman and then later opened a Montessori-based home preschool. While running the preschool, I completed my undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Child Development from Houston Christian University, formerly Houston Baptist University.
I received my graduate training in clinical psychology from the University of Houston, earning my master’s degree in 1995 and my doctoral degree in 1999. I completed my internship at Austin State Hospital.
For most of my career, I have either worked in solo private practice or in forensic state hospitals. Early in my career, I had a strong interest in schizophrenia and had the good fortune to train with Gordon Paul, Ph.D. and Dale Johnson, Ph.D., both leaders in advancing effective psychosocial treatments for those with schizophrenia. While I no longer work in this area, that experience helped me develop strong skills in working with individuals facing severe and complex emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
I returned to independent practice in 2019. Prior to Covid, my practice included psychological assessments, as well as therapy with both children and adults. Since Covid, my practice has focused on providing online therapy with adults.
I have two adult children, with families of their own. Currently, I live in The Woodlands. In my free time, I enjoy Ancestry, camping, gardening and jigsaw puzzles. I especially enjoy time with family and friends.
Sessions are online by televideo. Typically, sessions are 60 minutes and occur on a weekly basis.
I am a preferred provider for many insurance companies, including Medicare.
Sessions are billed at $250 per hour.
